Before we dive into the rest instruction for Canon PG-240XL and CL-241XL ink cartridges. Let us look at the definition of the remanufactured ink cartridges by Printel as it helps us understand why it needs to be reset.
What is Canon PG-240XL, CL-241 Remanufactured Ink Cartridges by Printel
Canon PG-240XL and CL-241XL ink cartridge set is full color ink cartridges designed by Canon for selected PIXMA printers. Canon utilizes FINE (Full Photolithographic Inkjet Nozzle Engineering) technology to deliver crisp print that is smudge-resistant. The Printel remanfauctured Canon PG-240XL CL-241XL inkjet cartridge is the engineered result of remanufacturing Original (OEM) Canon PG-240XL CL-241XL cartridges after one cycle of service. Printel recycling partners collected used Canon PG-240XL, CL-241XL ink cartridges and sent them to our remanufacturing facilty. At our facility, each ink cartridge is disassembled and inspected following our incoming protocol for problems such as broken parts, possible leakage and clogged printhead nozzles etc. Damaged parts are repaired or replaced. Then the cartridge will be injected with premium ink formula to its full capacity. Once the cartridge has been refilled, a quality assurance test is conducted to test for its performance, print quality and page yield. This is what we at Printel practice everyday.
As we already discussed in another blog post, the printer manufacturer goes out of their way to make the remanfauctured ink cartridge work less smoothly with the printer. They do this so that they can charge the customer hefty amount of money on the ink. So once you installed Canon PG-240XL and CL-241XL remanufactured by Printel in your printer, if you see "Ink Low" errors or printer refused to print, don't panic as it is common issue for remanufactured cartridges. Simply follow the steps below to reset your printer. You can reset it in two ways. One is Reset Directly on your Printer. Another way is to Reset through your Computer.
Reset Canon PG-240XL and CL-214XL Ink Cartridge Procedures without Computer
1. When you first install the cartridges, the lights for Color and Black cartridges may light up or flash. At this time, if you try to print or copy, the printer will not work.
2. Hold down the STOP/RESET button for at least 5 seconds.
3. After you release the button, you can hear the sound which indicates that the machine is reseting itself. The machine may print a blank page at this time.
4. You can go ahead copy or print right now. The lights for the Color and Black cartridges may keep lighting up or flashing, but it will not affect your machine function. Please ingore the lights.
Reset Canon PG-240XL and CL-214XL Ink Cartridge Procedures from Computer
1. After you first install the cartridges, when you try to print from your computer, the following message will first pop up. This is the same message when you install the OEM original cartridges.
2. Click OK. The printer will try to print, then the following message will pop up.
3. Click “Cancel Printing” at this time.
4. Hold down the STOP/RESET button for at least 5 seconds.
5. After you release the button, you can hear the sound which indicates that the machine is reseting itself. The machine may print a blank page at this time.
6. You may go ahead try to print again. The printer should work. The lights for the Color and Black cartridges may keep lighting up or flashing, but it will not affect your machine function. Please ingore the lights.
